Eritrea Expands WASH Access with US$9.82 Million Climate Grant

The African Development Fund approved a US$9.82 million grant for Eritrea to improve access to water, sanitation and hygiene services through a climate-adaptation programme.

The Enhancing WASH Adaptation Project will support new water systems, rehabilitation of existing schemes and improved WASH facilities in schools and health centres. UNICEF and the Government of Eritrea are partners in implementation.

The grant is financed through the Climate Action Window and links basic-service investment with adaptation to climate-related water stress.
