Zambezi Basin Nations Advance US$130 Million Resilience Plan
Eight Zambezi Basin countries agreed climate-resilience priorities for a proposed US$130 million regional programme, according to the African Development Bank on 23 September 2026.
The programme focuses on food security, livelihoods and ecosystem resilience across the transboundary basin. It is intended to strengthen coordinated responses to climate risks affecting water resources, agriculture and communities.
The priorities were developed through a regional workshop held in Harare from 9 to 11 September, bringing participating countries together around a shared investment framework.
