The World Bank Group announced an infrastructure financing framework for Ecuador on 24 September 2026 with a total programme envelope of up to US$800 million over 10 years and three phases. More than 3 million people are expected to benefit from improved local infrastructure and services.

The first phase combines US$200 million from the World Bank with US$50 million from Spain's AECID. Across the full programme, the financing platform is expected to mobilise up to US$750 million in private capital.

Eligible investments include transport, energy, urban infrastructure, disaster-risk reduction and affordable housing. The programme is structured to strengthen subnational infrastructure finance and climate resilience.
