Colombia Secures US$200 Million Additional Earthquake Recovery Financing
The World Bank Group announced US$200 million in additional financing for Colombia on 24 September 2026 to support response and recovery following the 10 August earthquake.
The financing complements earlier emergency resources mobilised through Colombia's catastrophe deferred-drawdown arrangements. It is intended to support reconstruction, restore critical services and strengthen resilience in affected areas.
Recovery planning covers damaged infrastructure and community needs identified through post-disaster assessment, with financing structured to move from immediate response toward reconstruction.
