Mumbai-based Balisto Agritech reported selling more than 30 battery-powered agricultural machines, with cumulative sales exceeding ₹60 lakh since June 2025. According to YourStory’s report of 13 October 2026, 30 paying customers used the machines across more than 600 acres, with estimated diesel savings of 3,300 litres. These operational results are company-reported.
The Balisto 130 Pro performs weeding, intercultivation, rotavating, earthing-up and trolley operations. It uses detachable batteries and three electric motors controlled through onboard electronics. Operators can steer the machine using a dashboard or remote control, and an internet-connected diagnostic system transmits operating data.
The single-battery model costs ₹2.5 lakh and the double-battery model ₹3 lakh. Batteries carry a three-year warranty. The machines are manufactured in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, at a facility with stated capacity for 60 units monthly, expandable to 150. The company reported a workforce exceeding 40 people.
An autonomous model incorporating GPS and a magnetometer is under development, not an operational product. The report did not provide independently measured per-acre labour costs, electricity consumption, maintenance expenses, or net financial returns to farmers.
